Nature Day at Nichols Longleaf Pine Preserve
Join us for this fantastic field day event. There will be activity stations and short hikes through the Nichols Longleaf Pine Preserve. Rotating stations will focus on longleaf pine ecosystems, the turpentine industry, the Nichols tract, prescribed fire, local archeology, ornithology (with bird banding demonstration!), bird calls, and invasive species.
Three stations will run simultaneously, changing on the ½ hour, so participants can pick and choose which stations they would like to enjoy. You’ll also get to meet Larry Earley, author of Looking for Longleaf: The Fall and Rise of an American Forest who will be speaking. Come join the fun!
