Para celebrar el Festival de Ciencias de Carolina del Norte 2014, el Museo de Vida y Ciencias se enorgullece en ofrecer un evento de ciencias en el que habrá científicos bilingües (español-inglés) del área del Triángulo. Satisface tu curiosidad científica en nuestro programa Conoce a un Científico. Trabaja con un científico del área en el laboratorio del museo para investigar los últimos avances científicos. Piensa en las respuestas a todas tus preguntas científicas al participar en experimentos prácticos.

Evento incluido en la admisión al museo.

In celebration of the 2014 NC Science Festival, the Museum of Life and Science is proud to offer a hands-on science event featuring bilingual (Spanish-English) scientists from around the Triangle. Satisfy your scientific curiosity at our Meet a Scientist program! Join local scientists in the Museum’s Lab to investigate the latest scientific breakthroughs. Ponder the answers to all your science-related questions as you take part in hands-on experiments!

Free with paid museum admission.

Monica Gutierrez, Jose Vargas, and Monica Thomas Taste and Geneticsh from Duke University’s Outreach in Genetics and Genomics will have an activity table.

Doré R. LaForett, Ph.D. from UNC-Chapel Hill’s Frank Porter Graham Child Development Institute will be talking about the Science of Bilingualism.

Duke University MRSEC experts Samuel Alvarez, Suzana Vallejo-Heligon, Felipe Garci­a Quiroz will be hosting an activity table about Self Assembly. MRSEC stands for Materials Research Science and Engineering Center.

Daniela Cruz and Corey Oses from Duke University’s Society of Hispanic Professional Engineers (SHPE) will be hosting an activity table on Squish Circuits.

Samantha Perez, Cristina Fernandez and Noel Vera, also from Duke’s SHPE, will be hosting an activity table on Tissue Engineering: Building Blood Vessels.

Valerie Tornini from Duke’s Poss Lab, Department of Cell Biology, will be hosting an activity table on racing to regenerate fins.

The Museum of Life and Science will also have bilingual educators for the following butterfly house programs:

* 11:00a and 3:00p – Butterfly Releases

* 12:00p-2:30p – Insect Encounters

* 2:30p – Insect Feedings
