Learn about 3-D printing, Google Glass, giant waves, virtual reality, robotics, DNA, fossils and much more! This free event with activities for all ages takes place on UNC’s campus along Cameron Avenue, 10 a.m.–3 p.m. on Saturday, April 12, 2014.
Visit the Sustainability Center and the Solar Stage sponsored by Chapel Hill Parks and Recreation to find out about the ways our community stays green and to learn a few tips on how you can live more sustainably. Talk to university scientists and learn about current science research happening on UNC’s campus. Check out the “Small Science” play area, a safe and interactive space for children ages 2-8 to explore, play and build.
Come early to cheer on or participate in the 5K for Fitness (9 a.m. start time) sponsored by the Public School Foundation and Fleet Feet Sports Carrboro/Durham, and join the parade (leaving from McCorkle Place at 9:45 a.m.) with the Carolina Hurricane’s mascot Stormy and the Storm Squad to kickoff the Expo!
