STEM in the City: Kannapolis

There are so many ways the employees of the City of Kannapolis use math, science, engineering and most of all technology in daily work environments to keep the City running smoothly. STEM in the City is a series of Science Cafes which will showcase how STEM is used in the everyday operations of the City government.

Apr 19 – Hear from our Public Works Department about how we keep the “guts” of the city – our stormwater system and other infrastructure – monitored and running.

Apr 24 – The Police Department will give you a sneak peek on topics like crime scene technology, accident reconstruction, and patrol car technology.

Apr 26 – Hear from the Fire Department about basic fire science, calculations and consideration in public safety, and how citizens can apply this at home.
