Collaborative Family Science Night with Sterling Elementary School and Johnson C. Smith University
In an effort to establish community partnerships with area public schools, Johnson C. Smith University Science Technology Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) students will host a Family Science Night for Sterling Elementary School students and their families. This activity will specifically target 3-5th graders and core objectives that appear on the North Carolina End-of-Grade tests.
Students will be engaged in hands-on activities to see how science is used in the real world. This event is to serve as a means for future programming with the University and Sterling Elementary School, and may contribute to a future STEM summer camp.
