Calling all STEM Professionals

North Carolina Science Festival is actively recruiting STEM professionals – scientists, researchers, engineers, mathematicians, medical experts and more – to volunteer in many different ways for the 2017 NC Science Festival.

Students learn lab skills at RTP 20/20's Expo.

As a STEM volunteer with the Festival, you might visit a middle school classroom as part of the Invite-a-Scientist program, lead a tour of your research lab during a science expo, discuss a current issue in science with a high school class via Skype, demonstrate science concepts to a mixed-age audience or help behind the scenes in developing educational content for Festival programs.

There are many opportunities to share your STEM knowledge throughout the state, and there is a special need for STEM professionals who represent diversity in race and gender.

Here’s the first step: Complete a short online form to tell us about your background and your interests. The Festival team will work to match STEM professionals with Festival needs throughout North Carolina. By completing this form, you aren’t committing yourself – you’re just letting us know that you’re interested!
