For the fourth year in a row, leading biotechnology company Biogen is the presenting sponsor of the North Carolina Science Festival, making hundreds of events showcasing STEM (science, technology, engineering and mathematics) available to North Carolinians.

Biogen first signed on as presenting sponsor in 2015, and has been instrumental in the growth of the North Carolina Science Festival, allowing it to reach over a million people. In 2017, the Festival was able to reach all 100 counties in North Carolina for the first time. This year, the theme of the Science Festival is “The Science of Food and Drink” and the length of the Festival will move from two weeks to the full month of April.

“The Biogen Foundation puts a special emphasis on organizations that provide access to science learning and encourage young people to consider science careers. Programs like the North Carolina Science Festival provide students with the opportunities to see, hear and experience science in a fun way to help inspire them to be the scientists of tomorrow.” -Chris Barr, Executive Director of Biogen
