Statewide Star Party: Town Creek Indian Mound State Historic Site
ABOUT THIS EVENT
Join Town Creek Indian Mound & the Montgomery County Public Library in Troy in a celebration of astronomy on Saturday, April 13!
As part of the NC Science Festival’s Statewide Star Party, these events will commemorate & celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Apollo 11 Moon Landing! Both locations will offer hands-on, S.T.E.M.-based activities focused on better understanding and appreciating the moon during the day. Additionally, telescopes equipped with solar filters will be available at both sites between 1 - 4pm allowing participants to safely view the sun. Beginning at 7pm at Town Creek, telescopes will be available for viewing craters, mountains, and ancient lava flows on the lunar surface. Participation in all activities is free of charge.
