Statewide Star Party: Farmville Public Library
ABOUT THIS EVENT
To the moon and beyond! The Farmville Public Library is joining in on the excitement of the NC Science Festival by hosting a Star Party on Saturday, April 13 from 4 to 6 pm. There will be educational activities and fun for the whole family both inside and outside the library. Outside, there will be opportunities to view the moon through telescopes and binoculars. In Crater Creations, learners will experiment to create impact craters and learn why they are found on the moon. Inside, families can compare the size of the moon and the earth through hands-on activities, hear moon-related stories, and learn about the phases of the moon. Attendees will also be encouraged to write moon-related poetry. Historical NASA footage of the moon, space flight and interviews will be available for screening as well. This event is open to all and free of charge.
The NC Science Festival’s annual Statewide Star Party is made possible through the generous support of the NC Space Grant. www.ncspacegrant.org
